Faculty/Staff Membership Information
Salem State University faculty and staff are invited to become members of Alpha Alpha Alpha. To qualify, faculty and staff must:
- Meet the definition of first-generation (neither parent completed a bachelor's degree) at the time that the individual completed their bachelor's degree
- Be willing to serve as mentors for first-generation students in an official, structured capacity when called upon OR will participate in a panel/discussion/event being held by the chapter.
- Tri-Alpha understands faculty schedules and other commitments. The commitment to serve as a mentor or as part of an event is required just once and faculty may decline the request up to three times. After that, if faculty are not willing to engage/participate, their membership may be revoked and chapter dues forfeit.
- PLEASE NOTE: Tri-Alpha does not have a formal pre-established mentoring program - faculty/staff who join may be contacted at any point if a situation arises in which students are looking for formal mentorship. Faculty/staff should not contact the organization asking when they will receive a mentor.
- Submit membership confirmation form and lifetime dues by the established deadline (details on the form below).
